September 2007 is Life Insurance Awareness month, sponsored by the LIFE Foundation. The foundation is attempting to raise awareness about the growing number of Americans who carry little or no life insurance and who are putting their families at risk by doing so.
According to the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, only three out of every ten Americans carry life insurance at all, and the majority of the people who do have a policy are dangerously underinsured. Being underinsured or uninsured means that if you pass away unexpectedly, your loved ones will have to bear a financial burden as well as an emotional one. The LIFE Foundation is launching a month long publicity campaign, with the help of insurance groups and agents all over the United States, to let Americans know that life insurance is a crucial part of planning for the future of their families.
Many people put off purchasing a life insurance policy rather than
face the possibility of their own mortality. As hard as it may be, you
do need to think about the people who depend on you and the possibility
of not being there to care for them financially. Don't put off buying a
policy; your premiums will be lower if you purchase your policy while
you are still young. Don't put your family at risk. Get a free quote
